The following services are available to all FBK employees (whether research or admin staff), trainees, doctoral students, and affiliates:
Most items in our collections are available for loan, regardless of which branch the items are held at (via Santa Croce library or ECT* Library). The Sistema Bibliotecario Trentino catalogue includes our collections as well as those of other Trentino libraries. Local, national, and international interlibrary loan (ILL) scheme, through which physical books held at other libraries can be delivered directly to you at FBK (Povo or via Santa Croce). Please email us at [email protected] or .

A document delivery (DD) service is also available: we are able to request just about any article or book chapter held by another library, often in electronic format, from within the Trentino area or further beyond. If you’d like to use this service, please submit a request via the DD request form on our website.

We also subscribe to a wide range of e-resources, from scholarly journals to ebooks, to databases such as periodicals’ historical archives. You can access these resources on campus, when connected to the FBK network or wifi.
If you don’t have one, we would be happy to create a library user account for you so that you can access our services. Please fill out our user registration form and we will process your request and mail your library card to you via the FBK internal post system.
If you already have an account, please let us know and we will upgrade it to its ‘advanced user’ setting.
Your card will give you access to any other library in the Trentino area, as well.
The FBK Library is part of MLOL, a digital content project offering online access to a wide range of resources: over 51,000 books, 550 audiobooks and 128,000 other audio files, as well as ca. 7,000 periodicals in English, Italian, and other languages. Access to all content is free to users; any costs are sustained by the Trentino Library Consortium including the FBK Library. To activate your MLOL account, email us at – make sure to include your library card number.
Finally, if you are involved in an official partnership with the University of Trento (e.g. if you’re a member of a Collegio di Dottorato or an advisor to a UNITN PhD student, or manage an FBK/UNITN joint lab or project), we kindly ask that you provide us with all relevant details, so that we can request a UNITN account on your behalf. This will give you access to any e-resources available to UNITN staff and students. We will be processing the account request for you, so please contact our Library Director, Dr Matteo Fadini ([email protected]) for further information. This option can also be activated at any time, should you begin such a partnership or project at a later date.
